Ex-LTTE Fighter Launches Hunger Strike in Mullivaikkal, Demands Justice with 10-Point Appeal

A former Tamil militant, Alagaretnam Vanakulasa, who lost a leg in the war, has launched an indefinite hunger strike in Mullivaikkal Memorial Grounds.

With a 10-point demand, he vows to continue his strike without food or water until justice is served.

The protest, which began today at 7:00 AM, aims to draw the attention of both Sri Lanka and the international community to the ongoing struggles of Tamils in the country.

Key Demands of the Hunger Strike:

1. A Separate Tamil Government must be established.

2. Immediate justice for those who were forcibly disappeared.

3. Military camps in Tamil war cemeteries must be dismantled.

4. Tamil traitors must be expelled from the community.

5. Essential commodities and food prices should be regulated and reduced.

6. Regional discrimination must be eradicated.

7. Individuals falsely accused of being part of the LTTE should be protected from financial exploitation, and minimum wage laws (LKR 200 per hour) must be enforced for laborers.

8. Protection for elderly and youth must be ensured.

9. Land and housing must be provided to homeless individuals.

10. The rising number of beggars in Sri Lanka must be eliminated through welfare programs.

This protest comes at a time of rising tensions and growing demands for justice for the Tamil people.

The hunger strike has already gained attention within the Tamil community, and activists are calling for global intervention.

As the protest continues, will the Sri Lankan government respond? Stay tuned for updates.
