G.C.E. Ordinary Level Exam Begins Tomorrow – Like Past Years, Inmates Sitting This Time Also


474,147 candidates to sit for the exam at 3,663 centers nationwide
Special exam centers for students with special needs, inmates, and hospitalized students
Commissioner General of Examinations, Amit Jayasundara, assures all arrangements are complete
 
The G.C.E. Ordinary Level Examination is set to commence tomorrow, with all necessary preparations finalized, according to Commissioner General of Examinations, Amit Jayasundara.
 
A total of 474,147 candidates have applied for the examination this year. Of them, 398,182 are school candidates, while 75,968 have applied as private candidates.
 
Strict Guidelines for Candidates
 
Commissioner General Jayasundara has urged students to arrive at their respective examination centers well in advance and to carry only the required materials. He has strongly advised against bringing unauthorized items into the examination halls.
 
Any candidate found violating exam regulations will face strict disciplinary action, including a possible five-year ban from sitting for future exams.
 
Special Exam Centers for Inmates and Others
 
The exam will be conducted across 3,663 centers nationwide, with special arrangements made to ensure accessibility for all students, including those in the Northern Province.
 
Additionally, special examination centers have been established for:
Students with special needs in Rathmalana, Tangalle, Matara, and Chilaw
Inmates at Colombo Magazine Prison and Wattala Sunitha Vidyalaya
Students undergoing rehabilitation
Hospitalized students at Maharagama Apeksha Hospital
 
With all measures in place, authorities expect the examination process to proceed smoothly, ensuring fairness and accessibility for all candidates, including those from diverse backgrounds.
