Nationwide Nurses’ Protest Against Budget Cuts in Allowances


In response to the reductions in allowances introduced in the 2025 national budget, nurses across the country staged a one-hour protest yesterday (Thursday) in front of hospitals.
 
The demonstration took place during the lunch break, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, as a symbolic stand against the government’s decision.
 
Adding strength to the movement, nurses at the Jaffna Teaching Hospital also participated in the protest, voicing their concerns over the budget cuts.
