No Need to Align with Anyone – Sajith Premadasa Dismisses Coalition Rumors

Opposition Leader Denies Reports of Alliance with Mahinda Rajapaksa and Ranil Wickremesinghe

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has strongly refuted media reports suggesting that he, along with Mahinda Rajapaksa and Ranil Wickremesinghe, is forming a political alliance. Calling these reports “blatant lies,” Premadasa stated that the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) has no necessity to align with any other party.

Premadasa condemned certain newspapers and television channels for spreading false information, noting that these baseless claims were even highlighted in morning news segments. He asserted that such propaganda is being deliberately spread by bankrupt political forces aiming to hinder the SJB’s success in the upcoming local government elections.

Speaking at a gathering of SJB candidates contesting the local elections, Premadasa reaffirmed that his party is making independent and strong decisions. However, he accused rival political entities of fabricating stories about SJB seeking alliances to mislead the public.

“We are not afraid of the truth, but we are deeply concerned about the attempts to deceive the people with falsehoods. The SJB is making the right choices, and we have no intention of joining hands with any other party,” he declared.

With the SJB contesting the local government elections for the first time, Premadasa claimed that political opponents are resorting to misinformation to weaken his party’s momentum. He assured that the SJB remains steadfast in its path and will not be swayed by baseless rumors.
