Sri Lanka’s Export Revenue Hits $1.3 Billion in January


Sri Lanka’s export sector has recorded a significant boost, generating $1.3 billion in revenue in January 2025 alone, according to the Export Development Board (EDB).
 
The latest figures reveal that merchandise exports surged by 33.51%, while agricultural exports saw a growth of 14.87% compared to the same period last year.
 
In total, the country’s export earnings—including both goods and services—amounted to $1,334.19 million in the first month of the year, marking a strong start for the nation’s export industry.
